On Wednesday 12th August, we basketted 30 pigeons for the last international race of the season 2020. All the pigeons that could be basketted, are in the race. The team is lead by Remco, Mila and Gloria.

The last flight of the season is over. The pigeons were released on Saturday morning in Narbonne for a flight of 914km. Given the circumstances, it had to be possible for the pigeons to reach the loft in the evening. This happened everywhere in Belgium, but not in Limburg. None of the 799 pigeons from Limburg managed to get home. There was a dense fog on Sunday morning, which slowed the pigeons down. Just after 7 am the first Limburg pigeon arrived, a yearling. Given the dense fog, we were not confident in getting a pigeon home quickly. Out of nowhere, around 7:30 am it happened! Our first signed Remco arrived through the fog. Since at that time no old pigeon had been registered yet, we knew that this had to be the 1st provincial. Remco wins the race in time on the furthest distance. A fantastic achievement! About 20 minutes later, Gloria, Remco's hen, arrived. Good for the 2nd provincial prize and a strong candidacy for 1st provincial ace pigeon (she already won 3rd prov. Marseille). Mila arrived around 8:20 pm, unfortunately slightly injured, followed shortly afterwards by another old cock, which she kindly let in first. These two still win 4th and 5th provincial. A beautiful result, with the first three nominated in the top 5 provincial! Afterwards the pigeons followed well. A yearling half-brother of Remco managed to win the 1st prize MKFV in the yearlings, good for 6th provincial.
